Church Timeline

The first Presbyterian Church was organized in the winter of 1843-1844 by the Reverend Benjamin Ogden of Three Rivers Michigan. At that time the church consisted of only six members.

The first church building was constructed in 1953 on the corner of Factory and High Streets. Before this the church members worshiped in either the court house or the school. The current church was built in 1882 from bricks furnished by a member of the congregation. The hardwood floors in the sanctuary were added in 1911. The current steeple was constructed in 1938. In the early 1960s a major renovation was undertaken. The Narthex and entry were added and the sanctuary was redesigned. During the winter of 2012-2013 the chancel was renovated as part of the centenary organ restoration.

Our members take great joy in maintaining a faith tradition that stretches over 170 years.

In July of 2019, History in Your Own Backyard visited the Church and produced the video bellow. For More information about History in Your Own Backyard, visit their website  historyinyourownbackyard.com
